WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

Our Analysts are entry-level professionals. Analysts work with a broad range of clients and industries participating as a member of project teams to diagnose client issues and assist in designing executive remuneration solutions for Remuneration Committees and management, in collaboration with our Reward team which delivers solutions for the wider workforce.

We expect our team to be front-line advisors, not background players. This means you will be encouraged and inspired to make a difference by tackling interesting client challenges alongside a bright and supportive peer group from day one. A typical day for our Analysts involves the following:

 

  • Developing a solid understanding of Mercer’s standard tools and methodologies

  • Conducting research and developing client peer groups to understand a client’s business strategy, performance drivers, remuneration practices, and general governance and regulatory trends

  • Analysing data from a variety of sources to provide quantitative and qualitative analytical support to senior consultants and project teams. Typical analyses include remuneration benchmarking, remuneration policy reviews, and data modelling to support the design of variable incentive plans

  • Collaborating with project teams to prepare for Remuneration Committee or Executive Committee meetings, including drafting of papers and presentations and supporting with stakeholder interviews, where needed

  • Participating in client meetings and supporting with ongoing client relationship management, including drafting client correspondence and taking an active approach to keeping up to date with client needs, under guidance from senior consultants

  • Sharing knowledge with the broader team and providing training to our graduate analysts

  • Supporting with project proposals and marketing initiatives to win new business, as well as thought leadership research to reinforce our positioning as the global leader in HR consulting

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE:

  • 2:1 in any degree discipline and/or proven relevant experience 

  • Previous consulting experience is desirable but not required

WE WILL RELY ON YOU TO:

  • Possess experience of using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Exhibit proven analytical and technical (Excel) skills

  • Demonstrate proven written and presentation skills (Word, PowerPoint)

  • Hold exceptional organisational and time management skills

  • Provide strong attention to detail
