Amanda joined Mercer after 15 years as a partner in Big 4 and Tier 1 accounting firms. She advises on all types of executive remuneration and designs incentives for a variety of different types of companies and other organisations. She has a wide-ranging knowledge of the tax, legal, regulatory and accounting issues relating to reward and uses this knowledge to give pragmatic, commercial advice taking note of any technical parameters.
Amanda works with Remuneration Committees of listed companies in the UK and internationally advising on executive pay and also designing incentives and compensation structures for executives. She also designs international incentive plans including award winning, innovative cross-border plans. She works with private equity funds and their investee companies to incentivise private equity executives and management teams to maximise their performance. Amanda has extensive experience in transactions including mergers, acquisitions and IPOs and designing reward packages to transition management teams into new ownership structures. She also designs pay and incentive structures for large private companies, not for profit and public sector organisations.
Amanda was appointed secretary to the Remuneration Consulting Group and, as a result, understands the leading edge view of current remuneration issues, the views of leading advisers and impact of likely changes. She has advised HMRC on a number of aspects of tax changes to remuneration issues over a 10 year period including trust structures and other remuneration strategies.
Amanda graduated from Cambridge University with a Masters in Law and originally qualified as a solicitor before moving into consulting. Amanda is invited regularly to speak at UK and international conferences and publishes articles in specialist national and international publications. She has recently written a chapter on the Human Resource issues in ‘Doing Business After Brexit’ published by Bloomsbury.
